I am glad to introduce myself – Kristina Mygul, a beginner artist from Ukraine. In the past I graduated from the Academy of Arts as a clothing designer and choreographer before that. Following the dream I started painting a few years ago. When I took the first step … I realized that all that I have is my feelings, emotions and intuition and I started to draw a face and body. I was happy every time I touched the canvas enjoyed the dirty hands and the smell of paint. People say that my pictures speak, and I am very happy about it because I try to convey my feelings and mood through my pictures – in each picture there lives a soul which dances on canvas. With every new picture – I’m growing and feel how much I’d like to say with my painting. Normally I do not use a brush, maybe only for some nuances, I like to feel contact with paint and canvas, for this I often paint with my fingers, or a piece of cloth and spatula. I work with oil and acrylic, also interested in experimenting with coating fluids and epoxy.
For me – art is not only for pleasure, it is a powerful tool to convey information, change different situations and influence the viewer. I want to talk through my works of art about usually complex social topics which are remain unheard because they are not in demand in the exhibition art space. I want to attract the attention of different segments of the population and, through painting to give impetus to a rethinking of behavior in society. Because – if people still feel the pain of others, it gives hope that they will not lose the “human face”.
